Yes — if your car was sold in India after 2008, it has an OBD-II port. MargPulse works with all petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric cars that use the OBD-II standard. This covers the vast majority of cars on Indian roads today.

MargPulse draws minimal current from the OBD port. It automatically enters a deep-sleep state when the engine is off (RPM = 0) to protect your battery. It wakes up when you start the engine.

MargNetra works fully offline. The IMU and OBD data continue to record locally. When GPS returns, the backend resumes trip scoring with the cached telemetry. No data is lost.

No. Emergency manoeuvres — hard braking to avoid a pedestrian, animal, or sudden obstacle — are detected by the forward camera's object detection and flagged as "Safety Positive Override." They never trigger a penalty. This is a core design principle.

MargRakshak operates as a Technology Service Provider (TSP). All actual monetary balances are held in escrow by an RBI-licensed banking partner (e.g., ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, or IDFC FIRST Bank API gateway). We never directly hold or touch your money. This is compliant with RBI's Master Directions on Prepaid Payment Instruments.

Yes. Continuous footage is processed on the edge device — it is not streamed to the cloud continuously. Clips are only uploaded when: (1) you initiate a Bounty Report, (2) a crash event triggers a forensic seal, or (3) you submit a dispute. All uploads are encrypted. Your data is never sold to third parties without your explicit per-use consent, as required under the DPDP Act 2023.
